ritecSilver success for Ritec and Clearshield

Ritec has won another prestigious award for innovation based on new developments for its ClearShield “non-stick”, low-maintenance glass surface protection. The Enfield company has collected second prize in The Innovative Business of the Year Award sponsored by Barclays Bank. The competition was organised by Enterprise Enfield, a regional business support agency approved by The Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform. The award recognises the introduction of a number of new ClearShield formulations during 2008, including:

high temperature performance for applications such as glass oven doors and hob tops;
anti-bacterial performance for glass in restaurants, pubs and hospitals;
a special formulation combining high temperature performance and direct food contact.

Since it was introduced by Ritec in 1981, the ClearShield System has achieved global success with a range of proven solutions for the renovation, protection and maintenance of glass. Applications cover a broad spectrum of market sectors, including architectural, marine, residential and decorative glazing, and Ritec’s recent product developments are now extending protection to areas such as solar panels and glass oven doors.
Stephen Byers, Chairman and MD of Ritec, says: “We are extremely proud to win this award, the latest in Ritec’s long list of achievements that spans over 25 years. We have always been at the forefront of surface protection technology and this award recognises our commitment to continuous innovation in this field through the development of new products and improvement of existing ones.”
